HOW TO MARKET YOUR BUSINESS WITH NO MONEY

Many businesses have little or no marketing budget at all and some of them take this as an excuse not to market at all. This is a dangerous gamble as no customers will come to buy what they don’t even know exists!!! No matter how good your product or service is, whether you’re an individual or corporate, you will always need to market your product and service.

Social media is one of the easiest ways to market yourself without spending anything at all. All you need is to spend a little time and be consistent and your business will grow.
To market your products online, you may need a laptop, computer or a smartphone, and if you’re reading this… I’m sure you have one of those with you. Even with just a smartphone, there’s a lot of ways to market yourself on Facebook, twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube etc.

  • With your smartphone you can download the Facebook or twitter app and start posting and building a following at no cost at all. You could also download the free Instagram app and start posting pictures of your products or inspirational pictures with captions marketing your product. You could also record and post videos as long as they’re fifteen seconds long, you could do some editing of the video using free apps like Adobe Post.
  • With your smartphone camera, you could market yourself on YouTube and do some video editing with the free YouTube editor… or iMovie for your iPhone or Adobe Premiere Clip which are both free.
  • You could also start a podcast and use your smartphone as a recorder. There are a lot of ways that social media can help you market your business at no cost at all. You could also have an email list where you are able to manage your email subscriptions and easily update them on your newsletters with free services like mail chimp which is absolutely free for managing up to two thousand subscribers.
  • The possibilities are endless. You could use LinkedIn to form relationships with other social media "influencers" and network with people that could give you tips on how to grow your business. Facebook and twitter to grow a following that you could market your products to. There are free apps like Crowdfire that help you get a following and manage all your accounts and can even post regularly on your behalf content that you specify so you don’t have to be on social media all the time but you still get a huge following!!!

These are just some of the few ways that anyone can market their business and products online for free. In fact, you can even earn from social media with programs like AdSense and Word Ad.


The only thing that you’ll have to invest is your time. You’ll have to start slow and be consistent in order to get a huge following. Think from your customers’ point of view. Why should they take five to ten minutes of their time to watch your video or read your article? You could look at some of the people or businesses you follow or YouTube channels you watch and list reasons why you follow or subscribe to them. You could then implement the same on your social media platforms and with time, your following will grow and this will translate to growth of your business.

    I am so happy to take a look at these ways to market the business very effectively. I also have been using various ways to promote my business but not satisfied with the results. I have got the recommendations for the app to send sms to slack and just hoping that the results will be super nice.
