HOW TO MAKE A SUCCESFUL BLOG

Blogging... this once seemingly negligible aspect of social media is today a major source of many individuals’ income, their bread and butter. It has even made some businesses millions of dollars in the last five years.
This success attributed to blogging has made thousands delve into this venture in an effort to get “easy money” or as the Americans say (looking to make a quick buck) only to be disappointed at the poor results they get and they end up thinking that their predecessors, those among the first to blog and make money out of it were the lucky ones who made all the free money and that there’s nothing left to gain anymore.
Well, this article is for those people... those in their final breaths trying to save their blogs and make even a cent out of it. They say a drowning man will clutch at a straw but today I’ll give you something even better. I offer you my hand and as you take it... know that your blog will never be the same again as it will be your main source of income and you could stay at home all day and still buy that iPhone you’ve always wanted ; ) so take out your pen and notebook... cause we’re about to go to class!!!

A blog (truncated from the word weblog) is a frequently updated online personal journal or diary. It is a place to express yourself to the world, place to share your thoughts and your passions. Really, it’s anything you want it to be. For our purposes we’ll say that a blog is your own website that you are going to update on an ongoing basis.
Notice that, I put emphasis on frequently updated, well here’s where our first lesson comes in. You cannot make only one post and expect to earn anything out of your blog, neither can you post once every couple of years and expect any earnings. Sadly, there’s no shortcut, you just have to update your content regularly... readers need some content to attract them to visit your blog and I’ll tell you why you need them.
Your readers are your income... and to get any meaningful income, you have to get at least a hundred visitors to your blog which is actually really easy for anyone as long as you regularly post content on your blog. Getting a lot of hits on your page gets you eligible for ad programs such as ad-sense where businesses advertise on your blog and you get money from that. The more the visitors... the more the money.
Here are a few cool tips to get you started on the right track -:

1. USE HASHTAGS.

Use tags on each post to increase search-ability i.e #business #social-media
If anyone searches for content on a topic related to your hashtag, your content will appear among the first.

2. POST SNIPPETS OF YOUR CONTENT.

Post small eye-catching quotes from your popular posts to give your audience a sneak peek. Include tags and links as well. Other snippets like pictures also work well to preview your content before reading.

3.  RE-BLOG COMMENT AND LIKE OFTEN.

Re-blogging other people’s content once in a while takes away the burden of creating content all the time. Through commenting and liking, you may form relationships with other influential bloggers online and gain more readership, likes and comments as well.

4. POST LINKS TO YOUR PAGE.

As you share content, remember to add links to you page as some content may go viral and can be linked back to your page if you posted your link. This attracts readers to your site as well.

5. FOCUS ON YOUR NICHE.

Whatever you decide to post about, focus on that and exploit your niche (target audience). This helps you appear in search results if you focus on a specific group. Also consider the ways your audience finds you and use this to your advantage and market yourself i.e. twitter, Facebook, google+, Instagram etc.
With this information at hand, and a little bit of hard work, you’re well on your way to being one of the top bloggers on social media. Don’t forget to share some credit when you make it though ;)

you’re welcome.
